Recorded at Heinz Hall, this is Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra Music Director Manfred Honeck’s conception of Mozart’s Requiem, incorporating text, readings, and Gregorian chant into the requiem itself. The recording features Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh (prepared by Betsy Burleigh and Ryan Keeling), F. Murray Abraham (narrator), Jeanine De Bique (soprano), Catriona Morison (mezzo-soprano), Ben Bliss (tenor), Tareq Nazmi (bass), tenors and basses of the Westminster Choir (James Jordan, conductor).
